Sassy Water Recipe

I went over my mom’s house for dinner the other night and she had this refreshing homemade flavored water that she called Skinny Water.  It was so refreshing- I felt like I was at a spa about to get a massage.  It is Cucumber Mint Lemon Water and its is also known as Sassy Water or Skinny Water. This water is associated with the flat belly diet and it is known to detox your body, increase metabolism, reduce bloating, and calm your nerves.  Plus drinking water is the best way to stay full and since this water is yummy, it makes it super easy.  I fell in love with it!

Ingredients:8. 5 CUPS WATER
1 TSP/ GRATED GINGER
1 MED. CUCUMBER
1 MEDIUM LEMON
12 SPEARMINT LEAVES

Slice lemons and cucumbers into round wedges and mix in other ingredients.  Let sit overnight and refrigerate. Enjoy!  Drink 8 glasses per day.

Pump it Up

When you feel like you are wearing the same old colors- black, gray, white- just pump your outfit up with some colored pumps.  They don’t have to be designer to look awesome.  I found a pair of magenta pumps for under $25 at Target.

Peppermint Patty Cookies

One of my co-workers is moving on and up to management so the little baker in the office, Liz, made some delicious Peppermint Patty Cookies to send him off.  They were so yummy I had to get the recipe and share will you all.  I am a huge fan of chocolate and mint so I am a little bias to this recipe.

Back to School (or work) Shopping

Although I have been out of school for a few years, I never really stopped “back to school” shopping.  Summer attire is pretty relaxed and comfortable and it’s fun to rev your wardrobe to a more buttoned-up, classy look for fall.  Plus, fall is my favorite season for fashion with layers, tights, scarves, and so many fun skirts and tops. Below are a few faves I have my eye on for fall- Tiffany pendant & bracelet, gorgeous Burberry tote, neutral pencil skirt, & girly iPhone cover.

Chocolate Covered S’mores

Of course nothing beats making fresh s’mores over a crackling fire but if you want to prepare a s’mores-like dessrt for a gathering, here is a delicious recipe.  I was inspired when I went to Block Island and they had these treats at a local fudge shop.

Chocolate Covered S’mores

Prep time: 15 minutes

Ingredients(Makes 6 squares):

  • 12 graham cracker squares
  • 1/4 cup marshmallow Fluff
  • 6oz chocolate(about 3/4 cup chocolate chips)

Method:

1. On half of the graham crackers, spread roughly 2 teaspoons of Fluff.

2. Sandwich each covered graham cracker with an uncovered one and put these aside.

3. Melt the chocolate in a microwave or over a double boiler until it is smooth and liquid.

4. One by one, lower the s’mores into the melted chocolate. Flip once and use a utensil to make sure the sides are covered as well as the top and bottom.

5. Take the s’mores out of the melted chocolate and put it on a non-stick surface to dry. You can quicken the process by moving them to the refrigerator once you’re done.

6. Repeat with all the s’mores.

7. Store in the refrigerator until ready to eat.
