One of my favorite bloggers posted a blog about chalking hair and I could NOT wait to try it. Inna, from Baking in Couture (http://www.bakingincouture.com/) posted this post and I just had to give it a shot. It looked so fun, without the commitment of permanently dying your hair. http://www.bakingincouture.com/baking-in-couture/2012/11/how-to-chalk-your-hair-.html
My boss would probably kill me if I came I with pink tips so I decided I would make this project for a Friday night & I was pleasantly surprised by the results! Inna’s tutorial is simply AMAZING so I am not going to try to replicate it but here were my results to “hair chalking.” I found the soft chalk pastels at the local Michael’s craft stores for under $5.

Grilled Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms
I like to spend spring weeknights grilling healthy meals. I wanted to share this delicious recipe that makes the perfect healthy appetizer- only 80 calories! Enjoy!

Ingredients
2/3 cup chopped plum tomato
1/4 cup Mozzarella Cheese
1 tsp Olive Oil
1/2 tsp finely chopped fresh Rosemary
1/8 tsp Black Pepper
Garlic, 1 clove (crushed)
4 (5 inch) Portabella Mushrooms
2 Tbsp Lemon Juice
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 tsp fresh Parsley
Directions
Combine tomato, cheese, 1/2 tsp oil, rosemary, pepper, and garlic in a small bowl.
Remove brown gills from mushroom caps.
Combine 1/2 tsp oil, juice, and soy sauce . Brush over both the sides of the mushroom caps. Place mushroom caps, stem sides down, on grill rack coated with cooking spray, and grill 5 minutes on each side or until soft.
Spoon 1/4 cup tomato mixture into each mushroom cap. Cover and grill 3 minutes or until cheese is melted. Sprinkle with parsley and fresh parmesan cheese.
Spring Fever
Here in CT, spring is coming very slowly! Even though we do not have spring weather yet, I am trying to prepare myself with fun spring colors added to my wardrobe and makeup collection. Hope you all enjoy this week and everyone has a Happy Easter!

{Had an orange crush on some of these lip shades so decided to try out Revlon Moon Drops Lipstick in Blase Apricot. It is very moisturizing and not too orange!}

{My cousin did this easy french braid updo by pinning my braid up & securing it with a cute bow!}

{green pants, white lace shirt, and jean jacket.. color me pastel!}

Mint Blazer
Hope everyone enjoys St. Patricks’s Day weekend! My idea of going green will be eating lots of greens & staying on a healthy track this weekend with maybe a few sips of Irish beer, just for traditions’ sake! Have fun everyone & be safe! xo, Jamie

Lazy Irish Beer Bread
St. Patricks day is this weekend and why not celebrate with putting green food coloring & beer in everything we make?! Here is an easy recipe for beer bread… one of my favorite bread recipes!!
2 1/2 cups self rising flour
12 ounces room temperature beer (the better the beer, the better the bread. I use Harps beer made by Guiness in Dublin)
2 tablespoons sugar
Directions:
1Hand mix all ingredients only until well mixed (do not beat or use a mixer).
2Put mixture into a greased loaf pan.
3Preheat your oven to 375º F degrees.
4Bake for 45 minutes.
Also, do check out my favorite dessert for St Pattys Day, pistachio cake!!
