This martini is so yummy- its like chewing on Bubblicious gum, while getting tipsy! It is also very pretty to look at.  It’s definitely a girl’s drink and can be garnished perfectly for a fun ladies’ cocktail party.

Life’s a Picnic

I have been itching to have a picnic for a couple weeks.  There is something so fun & organic about lying out a blanket, eating some simple food, and enjoying the simple scenary such as chirping birds, dandelions, and fresh flowers.  I remember one of my favorite dates when I first met my fiance, was a picnic on the beach.  We packed cheese & crackers and drank champagne out of paper cups.  It was such a great night!  Here are some inspirations for a fabulous picnic.  The weather has been absolutely amazing so it is time. 🙂

Homemade Ice Cream Cake

We all love ice cream cake, right?  And who says we have to go to Carvel & spend an arm & a leg on this perfect summer treat.  A homemade Oreo icecream cake can be so inexpensive & easy.

Mozzarella Prosciutto Ciabatta

Why should lunch always be so boring?  A caesar salad, ham sandwich, frozen entrée… boring!  This lunch is sure to brighten your day and a bonus… it’s super healthy & fresh!  It is great to bring to work, to make for a group of people, and it can even be a great picnic lunch.

Bread with Prosciutto

Mozzarella and Tomato

Ingredients:

  • sliced tomato
  • fresh mozzarella
  • fresh Arugula (you can also use basil)
  • thinly sliced prosciutto
  • ciabatta bread

Directions:

Slice tomatoes, prosciutto, and fresh mozzarella.  Sprinkle the ciabatta bread with olive oil & fresh ground pepper.  Place mozzarella, prosciutto, tomato, and a handful of arugula on the sandwich.  Amazing!

Tee-time Father’s Day Cupcakes

Father’s Day is coming up & everyone loves cupcakes, right?  I certainly do.  For some reason they are so much more fun than cake because you can do so much more… and they are easy!  I have a Martha Stewart decorating kit on my registry & I am so excited to use it.  Many men in my life love golf and there are very few cupcakes that are not super girl.  These are the perfect cupcake for your dad, boyfriend, brother or any guy in your life.

What you’ll need:

  • vanilla or white cake mix
  • vanilla buttercream frosting
  • green food coloring
  • tooth pick
  • construction paper

Directions:

  • Bake cupcakes as directed on box.  Let cool.
  • Add about 10 drips of green food coloring to most of the frosting (save a small amount in white to use for making the “golf balls”) and keep adding until desired “greenness” is achieved.
  • Frost cupcakes with a decorative froster to make the texture raised like grass.  (if you do not have a frosting tool, you can make your own by cutting the corner of a zip-lock bag.)
  • Use the white frosting to make a small circle/dot to represent the golf ball
  • To make the flags, cut out small triangles with construction paper & glue them to the toothpicks.
  • Stick a flag in each cupcake and VOILA, you have the most masculine cupcake I’ve seen!
