Holiday attire

With all of the holiday parties coming up, finding the right outfit is half the fun.  If it’s a work party, dress to impress and make sure it’s appropriate.  You can let a little loose if it’s a friend’s party.  Make sure your comfortable in whatever you’re wearing and do not forget the power of accessorizing.

Candy Cane Nails

Over the weekend, I was in Boston for our annual Ugly Christmas Sweater Pub Crawl.  It is an event we look forward to all year long and love seeing the festive sweaters with tacky reindeer scenes, iceskating cats, and poinsettias.  Although over-the-top jingle bell earrings and santa sweaters can be Christmas over-kill, you can definitely get in the holiday spirit with some adorable  holiday-themed nails.  Here is an easy and awesome nail design that will be sure to get some holiday cheer.

Candy Cane Nails

1. You will need white nail polish and red nail polish with glitter.

2. First paint your nails white- 2 coats and let dry.

3.  When nails are dry, paint diagonal stripes (about 2 on each nail) with red glitter nail polish across each nail.

4.  Top with clear coat.

Winter White

One of my favorite things about fashion is that there are no rules.  I have always hated fashion rules like “don’t wear white after labor day.”  Sure there are certain times where your attire must be appropriate but making such specific do’s and don’ts are way too restricting.  As long as you are true to youself, your body type and you look good, I say go for it!  White is not just for after labor day, you can rock it all winter long.

Oreo truffles

On Thanksgiving my aunt had the most amazing dessert- Oreo Truffle balls.  I, of course, needed the recipe from her and was surprised to find out how easy they are… and they’re no bake!

Ingredients:

  • 1 package Oreos
  • 8oz cream cheese, softened
  • chocolate bark
  • wax paper or aluminum

Directions:

1. Crush Oreos in a mixing bowl.  An easy way is put in a ziplock bag and use a rolling pin to crush.

2. Add softened cream cheese and  and mix until smooth.

3. Chill mixture in fridge or freezer until firm.

4. Using tablespoon or melon-baller, scoop out desired amount for each ball. Use hands to roll into a ball. Place in fridge.

5. In microwave-safe bowl, melt the almond bark.

6. Drop Oreo balls into melted almond bark. Make sure to coat the entire surface then use a spoon to place on wax paper or aluminum. Let almond bark harden by chilling it in the fridge.

7. Sprinkle white chocolate or confectionary sugar to decorate.  Enjoy these yummy morsels!

She Wears Many Hats <3

The most fun accessories for winter are hats.  From knitted to straw, there are so many to choose from and can totally change up your look.  So many people I talk to claim they look silly in hate but everyone can pull off the right hat.  Just go for it.
