Style Confessions

There are so many style blogs out there and we all have our favorites.  Since I am in CT, it is not exactly the NY fashion industry so I get really excited when I come across something local that focuses on local boutique finds, local personalities, and everything within our very own backyard.  Working for a CBS news station here in CT helps me stay connected to the media and local businesses.  I discovered this awesome style website that focuses on fashion on a budget and was started by CT’s very own Sonia Baghdady, news anchor for Ch 8 News. I was honored when Style Confessions featured my swimwear blog post swimwear-for-every-shape/. The Stylists for Style Confessions are a dynamic team of women who have fashion and media experience and each of them brings their own style and expertise to the site.

Old Accessories, New Looks

I have been away for a couple days because we moved into our new house!  We are so excited for our new home and our first house together as a married couple.  You will see a lot more decorating posts as we furnish and make the house our own.  Any DIY ideas or great furniture sales, please so share! xoxo.

The part that was most fun about moving was really unpacking and organizing my things the way I want them to be organized.  Since we had such a small space, it was hard to organize my clothes and accessories.  I stumbled across pieces that I totally forgot I had so I figured I’d share these little gems!

Skinny Drinks

This weekend I am heading to Newport and I want to have a blast, however, I have been on a great healthy eating kick and do not want to throw that out the window.  So I am making sure to come prepared with skinny cocktail ideas and decided to share.  Cutting out calories does not mean cutting out the fun!

Swimwear for Every Shape

Yes, ladies it’s that time of year.  And if you are not a size 2, sometimes it can be frustrating shopping for a bathing suit that flatters your body.  There are so many different styles to choose from.  Below are some of my picks for different shapes and sizes to help guide you through the process.  One good tip is do not be scared of mixing and matching styles and sizes.  If you like a top to one bathing suit, it’s ok to mix it with another bottom that you prefer.  Also, one-pieces are back ladies!  They can make for a very fashionable pool-party look- add a few bangles and you’ll like you walked out of Vogue.  Happy swimwear shopping everyone!

Newport Getaway

I am very excited for a long weekend in Newport, RI with my family.  It is a much-needed getaway to take a break from the hustle and bustle of my career, moving into a news house, a break from the kids (my pup Zoey and kitty Jingles), and just a weekend of relaxation and fun.  Newport is extra special to me because of a few reasons.  It was me and Ryan’s first weekend trip together when we first met.  We had blast looking at the beautiful Newport mansions, checking out the local Blues Cafe and just admiring the historical town.  Also, my uncle has a time share there and he passed away this year.  Inviting the entire family to Newport to stay in his time share was a tradition for us and this year, we are dedicating this trip to him. ❤

Below are some of my weekend getaway necessities and some pics from Newport over the past couple trips! I recommend lots of sunscreen to keep that beautiful skin protected, a cross body bag so you can have your hands free while you stroll the area, and of course, very comfortable, cute sandals!
