I’m in.. check out my picks for Fancy sweatshirts.  Perfect for a Friday night football game or a cozy night in with friends watching scary movies!  What I also love is you can make an old sweatshirt, grab some fabric glue and gems and make it a fun DIY project to make your own embellished sweatshirt.

Are you ready for our new #streetstyle post?  This week is all about the boots!  These boots are made for walkin’ and they are also made to look freakin adorable! 🙂  Fall activities call for fall attire and we decided that boots, floral, and layers are the best way to stay comfortable yet look fashionably chic.  Our goal with street style is to put together real, affordable looks for the every day fashion-obsesed girl.

As the CT Topshop ambassador, I had to check out the line at Nordstrom in West Farms mall. I had a blast looking through the unique items and scored myself a new casual winter coat as well as a gorgeous lace & beaded cropped top .  My favorite part of the experience is you have your very own Topshop Personal Stylist!  My PS was named Dan & he was so helpful and a little fashionist-o himself.

Pretty Painted Pumpkins!

I LOVE fall.  It brings back the happiest memories from childhood such as pumpkin carving, helping my mom bake apple pie, apple picking, dressing up for Halloween and amazing fall flavors.  Of course, as we get more busy with work and life, it’s hard to find time to do some of these fun fall projects.  This year, instead of pumpkin carving I am going to do pumpkin painting!  It’s less mess and I figured our doorstep could use a little color.  I picked pink with glitter because October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and my husband is on the board of a fabulous breast cancer organization.  Also, I love the metallic because it looks so rich and fancy!

What you’ll need:

  • A few various size pumpkins based on preference
  • A few cans of Krylon spray paint.  I bought pink glitter, regular pink, and metallic colors. 🙂
  • newspaper to avoid mess

DIY Painted Pumpkins:

  1. Start with your preferred size pumpkin and lie newspaper along the table for protection.
  2. Holding the pumpkin by the stem, spray the entire surface area until every inch is covered. Allow the pumpkin to dry, and then apply a second coat.
  3. Let dry for at least 24 hours. Note: The more coats you apply, the darker the color will appear.
  4. Display on your steps or as a fun indoor decoration!
