Decorating Eggs & Nails

You are never too old to decorate Easter eggs this time of year!  To add a little twist, get some girlfriends together and decorate eggs together with glitter, food coloring, and stickers but then do eachothers nails to match!  You will not only have cute Easter baskets but a themed manicure as well. 🙂

Personal Shopping

I gave up shopping for myself in honor of lent.  I knew it would be a HUGE challenge for me since I am a fashion lover, clothing lover, accessory lover and just plain old shopping lover.  So when my friend, Elizabeth asked me to go spring shopping with her, I told her about my sacrifice for lent.  She had the great idea of me being her personal shopper.  It was so fun- she put me on a budget, told me what she was looking for and we did awesome picking out her new wardrobe.  Elizabeth was on a mission to find versatile tops that she could where out & to work.  Since she was on a budget, we went to Marshall’s and mainly stayed with the “Cube” section since they tend to have great brands such as Free People, Juicy, and other hot brands.  It was just the relief I needed– shopping vicariously through Elizabeth.  This is what we found!

Mad (wo)Men

The buzz of Mad Men’s new season has gained a lot of publicity and excitement.  I personally love the show because #1 I am in the advertising industry,  #2 the characters are interesting and dynamic, #3 The 60’s inspired fashion is to die for.

The sex symbol in the show is definitely Christina Hendricks.  Her curves and fiery red hair make her a red-hot character on the show.  Although her clothes are never too revealing, they are always just enough to turn heads.

Something Pink!

Since my wedding has passed, I have been itching to plan other peoples’ events.  I am still hooked on WE TV and David Tutera’s My Fair Wedding because planning events can be so exciting.  Thankfully, there are a lot of things going on with my friends & family.  I have several engaged friends and this weekend I was lucky enough to help throw a bridal shower for my cousin.  Since it’s her second child we threw her a “Sprinkle” and called it “Something Pink” since it’s her first baby girl.  We had a blast decorating with girly accents and everythink pink.

Rock Candy Cupcakes

Cupcakes are usually sweet & innocently delicious desserts.  These cupcakes add a little pop with rock candy on top.  They are a fun easy twist to cupcakes.  The rock candy toppping is a sweet surprise alternative from sprinkles.  You can add interesting flavors with the candy as well: bubblegum, rasberry, strawberry- so many possibilities.

Ingredients:

  • cake of choice (vanilla shown here)
  • rock candy (bubblegum shown)
  • frosting of choice

Directions: Bake cupcakes as directed.  Let cool and frost.  Break up rock candy off stick and mix into a bowl.  Sprinkle on top- it should stick easily to the frosting.  For a cute extra- you can put some rock candy or a bubblegum in the middle of the cupcake for a sweet surprise.
