What is a costume party without a couple signature cocktails.  This year, go beyond the simple wine and beer and have a couple featured spooky drinks- your guests will certainly be impressed.

{“Vampire Kiss” In shaker with ice- 2 oz citrus vodka, 1/4 oz pomegranate juice, 1/4 oz champage. Shake well.}

{“Candy Corntini“- 1 part orange curacao liquor, 1 part pinapple juice in shaker}

{very spooky ice cubes to add to your spooky cocktails. To do: shave radishs, cut small hole, put olive inside, cut side out, then freeze in clear soda or water. }

{Witch’s Brew Punch. 1 package lime Jello, 2 cups boiling water, 3 cups chilled pineapple juice, 1 bottle of lemon-lime soft drink such as Sprite or Sierra Mist, 2 cups chilled vodka (optional).  Pour the gelatin mix into a large bowl. Slowly stir in the boiling water. Stir at least 2 minutes, until the gelatin is completely dissolved. Stir in the pineapple juice. Let cool to room temperature.  For special effects, drop in dry ice, ice cube eyeballs, and gummy worms!}

After trying my first bowl of Pho soup about a month ago, I am definitely a phonatic.  Pho soup is a Vietnamese soup that has such delicious, fresh ingredients such as fresh basil, bean sprouts, lime, hot chili sauce, and delicious rice noodles. This soup can transform your day to ehh to great.  Today is a rainy day and is the perfect day for a bowl of Pho.  In CT, there are a couple choices of great Vietnamese restaurants.  I have found that most of the best Vietnamese restaurants are in West Hartford such as Pho Boston and Vietnam.  If you haven’t tried Pho yet, please do today!
