We have added a new addition to our family, a puppy named Zoey. She is a rescue from a gassing chamber in North Carolina. We chose the name Zoey because Zoe (origin) means, “life”. We think Zoey is a German Shepard/Bull Dog mix. She is a bundle of joy and loving her new home so far. However, our kitty Jingles, is not so happy. Any advice on how to get them to be friends? 🙂

You just have to give it time. Theres not much you can do besides giving Jingles extra attention. Eventually they will be best of friends!

It took Lucifer and Nero a little over a week to get along – but it was Lucifer’s first interaction with a dog ever (unless that’s what attacked him when he was recused in the woods) usually the cat will assert themselves and swat at the dog if they have too many issues and run away. Is Jingles de-clawed? If not just make sure to trim and file the nails real short so (he/she) can’t hurt the dog if they make contact. Lu is now best of friends with Nero (a black lab/dane mix) and they play like two puppies all day. Just praise Jingles a lot especially after interactions.
