Orange can be the new pink even though Elle Woods from Legally Blonde would not agree.  Orange is such a fun color but just like pink, can be extremely tacky if overdone.  It is important to also make sure you find the right shade of orange that will not wash you out.  For example, if you have Snooki’s tan, you may not want to wear very bold orange.  However, orange is such a playful color that you can have so much fun with.  Tangerine jewelery and accessories can doll up a neutral outfit and bring your look to life.

Dream Closet

So one of my lifetime dreams is to have a beautiful, big, walk-in closet like that of celebrities!  Since I live in a condo right now, with very little closet space, my closet situtaion is not ideal.  After stealing most of my fiance’s closet space, having my future father in law build me a shoe rack, and buying a portable closet organizer from Ikea, I am still not satisfied with my closet situation.  I am thinking more Carrie Bradshaw’s closet from Sex & the City the movie.  Maybe one day.. I can dream, right?

I would settle for any of these!! ❤  Which ones are your favorite?

So today is my Birthday and I need to treat myself to a yummy birthday cocktail!  However, I am still in healthy/diet mode and would prefer a lower calorie drink.  Drinks such as margaritas, pina coladas, and mudslides can run 500-800 calories.  Yikes! 

Here are a couple calorie stats on popular drinks.. I know, I know- I’d rather not know too!!

LONG ISLAND ICED TEA (700 calories, 40 g sugars)

MARGARITA (500 calories, 32 g sugars)

PINA COLADA (625 calories, 75 g sugars)

 

Sangria Sparkler  Recipe

Prep: 10 minutes
Chill: 2 hours
Makes: 12 servings

750-milliliter bottle dry red wine
1 cup light orange juice
1/4 cup brandy or cognac
1/4 cup orange liqueur
2 tablespoons sugar
2 medium oranges, sliced
2 cups club soda, chilled
Crushed ice and/or orange peel curls (optional)

1. In a large pitcher, combine wine, orange juice, brandy, orange liqueur, sugar, and orange slices. Chill at least 2 hours. Add club soda before serving. Serve over crushed ice and/or with orange peel curls, if desired.

Nutrition Information per serving: 100 calories, 0g protein, 9g carbohydrate, 0g fat (0g saturated), 0g fiber

Meet me in the Dugout ♥

So I am going to see the Yankees vs. Red Sox game Saturday!  My fiance got us tickets for my birthday @ Fenway Park. We are one of the few couples that have made it through the bi-team relationship.  He is a Red Sox fan and I am a Yankees fan.  We have a lot of fun together when we go to games and people in the bleachers just look at us with disgust as if we do not belong together.  it makes for an interesting experience. 

And yes, I DO have the balls (theoretically) to wear my Yankees gear to Fenway even though I will be all alone since my fiance will be wearing Red Sox.  Bring on all the insults and screaming at Fenway- I am ready for it.  But, needless to say, I do want to look cute at least in my Yankees gear.  I thought I would find some cute Yankees wear at PINK Victoria Secret’s but they only had Red sox!!  Can you imagine that??!

I  am thinking the ultimate Tom Boy look mixed with a little glam to feminize the look.

3-day Food Challenge

 So my wedding is 5 freakin’ months away!  I want to look awesome in my wedding dress as well as look hot in my bikini in Hawaii on my honeymoon.  I have been working out 3-4 times a week  but need a little motivation on my diet.  My mom sent me this 3-day diet that supposedly works on chemical breakdown and you can lose 10 lbs in one week if you follow it exactly.  I usually hate diet reccommendations but if you take a look at this one it seems very reasonable/do-able and realistic. 

So, who is going to take this 3-day challenge with me?  I need some support for motivation!!

DAY 1

  • Breakfast:

Black coffe or tea

1/2 grapefruit

2 tablespoons of peanut butter

1 toast

  • Lunch:  

1/2 cup of tuna

1 toast

Black coffee or tea 

  • Dinner:

3 oz of meat any kind

1 cup of string beans

1 cup of beets

1 small apple

  •  Dessert: 1/2 cup of vanilla ice cream

 

Day 2:

  • Breakast:

1 egg (any way but fried)

1/2 banana

1 toast

Black coffee or tea

  • Lunch:

1 cup cottage cheese

5 saltine crackers

Dinner:

2 hot dogs

1 cup broccoli

1/2 cup carrits

Dessert:

1/2 banana

1/2 cup vanilla icecream

Day 3

Breakfast:

5 saltines

2 slices of cheddar cheese

1 small apple

Black coffee or tea

Lunch:

1 hard boiled egg

1 toast

Dinner:

1 cup tuna

1 cup beets

1 cup cauliflower

Dessert:

1/2 cup cantaloupe

1/2 cup vanilla ice cream

This diet is known to work on chemical breakdown.  Do not vary or subsititue any of the listed foods.  Salt and pepper may be used but no other seasonings or condiments.  No limit to coffee or tea.

This diet can be used 3 days at a time.  If followed exactly, rumor has it you can lose 10 lbs.  After 3 days you may resume a normal healthy diet.

Do not snack between meals.
