Yes, ladies it’s that time of year. And if you are not a size 2, sometimes it can be frustrating shopping for a bathing suit that flatters your body. There are so many different styles to choose from. Below are some of my picks for different shapes and sizes to help guide you through the process. One good tip is do not be scared of mixing and matching styles and sizes. If you like a top to one bathing suit, it’s ok to mix it with another bottom that you prefer. Also, one-pieces are back ladies! They can make for a very fashionable pool-party look- add a few bangles and you’ll like you walked out of Vogue. Happy swimwear shopping everyone!

Newport Getaway
I am very excited for a long weekend in Newport, RI with my family. It is a much-needed getaway to take a break from the hustle and bustle of my career, moving into a news house, a break from the kids (my pup Zoey and kitty Jingles), and just a weekend of relaxation and fun. Newport is extra special to me because of a few reasons. It was me and Ryan’s first weekend trip together when we first met. We had blast looking at the beautiful Newport mansions, checking out the local Blues Cafe and just admiring the historical town. Also, my uncle has a time share there and he passed away this year. Inviting the entire family to Newport to stay in his time share was a tradition for us and this year, we are dedicating this trip to him. ❤
Below are some of my weekend getaway necessities and some pics from Newport over the past couple trips! I recommend lots of sunscreen to keep that beautiful skin protected, a cross body bag so you can have your hands free while you stroll the area, and of course, very comfortable, cute sandals!

Homemade Salsa Fresca
I love this recipe because I love to “dip” weather it be tortillas, veggies, or crackers and this dip has so many healthy ingredients. Salsa is my favorite dipping companion! 🙂

INGREDIENTS 2 cups chopped ripe tomatoes, 1 cup chopped Vidalia onions, 1 cup chopped green Bell pepper , 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice, 1 jalapeno, finely diced 1 teaspoon salt, Chopped fresh cilantro for garnish.
PREPARATION 1. Combine the tomatoes, onion, pepper, lime juice, jalapeno and salt in a big bowl and stir to combine.
2. Leave out at room temperature for 1 hour or place in the refrigerator for about 8 hours. Be sure to bring it up to room temperature before eating.
3. Spoon off any excess liquid, gently mix in the cilantro and taste to see if it needs any more salt.
Home Finds
I am so excited to be closing on my own home this month and have been having tons of fun searching furniture websites and “pinning” decor ideas. Some of the stuff I have come across have been to cool not to share.

{chalkboard ceramic storage bins. LOVE these to label your flour, tea, sugar, etc. $69.99 @ homemint.com }

{colored candle sticks. what a fun way to add color}

{fun wall decals that I saw at Target for like $12. Perfect for my vanity room}
DIY Bracelets
Have some old friendship bracelets from the 90s lying around? Instead of throwing them away and buying more accessories, why not go green & recycle those babies? They can be very cute if you pick up a metal like the one pictured below and tie them to the metal, then stack your faves! 🙂
