Resort Romper

This summer has been a little different than past summers. With the arrival of Gavin in late May, we have traded fancy dinners for outdoor picnics and resort vacation for pool days in our backyard. I love getting dressed up on vacation so since our background is kind of like our own little resort (right?), I dressed for the occasion with an adorable romper I found on clearance at T.J. Maxx.  One of my favorite things about August?  Summer clearance!  Have you found any good deals lately?

High-tops + Chambray

I rarely wear sneakers unless I am hiking or working out. I am 5’2 and take any inch I can get so I usually avoid flats or sneakers at all cost. When I saw these adorable pink-accented wedge sneakers for only $10 on clearance at T.J. Maxx, I knew I would be kicking around in sneakers a lot more. I paired with basic shorts and a versatile Denim top from Squares Hearts my new go-to site for great finds at awesome prices, where you can find here.  Of course, the corona light & my pup Zoey  brought the whole look together; don’t you just love summer nights?

Wednesday’s Look for Less

My rule of thumb is to splurge on the classics and save on the trends. A LBD that you will wear to every other fwedding? Splurge. That romper that you want to wear for a bachelorette party? Save. A classic trench for every season?  Splurge. You get the picture! Invest in your classics and get the look for less on some looks to save some cash for your next fashion investment.  Once in a while, however, something is so unique, that you simply have to splurge in fear that you may never come across it again.  This is best to do on vacation, especially since there will be a fun story behind the piece!

What pieces do you think are work splurging on?

Splurge vs. Steal

One of my favorite post on other blogs and in magazine is Splurge vs. Steal features. I love when I can replicate a very expensive designer look on a limited budget. Although, sometimes, nothing can compare to the real thing. Below are my steal picks! xo, Enjoy!

Sexy in Stripes

Stripes are kind of like the LBD, they will never go out of style and will always be an old faithful pattern to turn to.  Lately stripes have been everywhere, from horizontal, vertical, diagonal, skinny, thick, and everything in-between!
