When I was younger, one of my favorite things about late summer was back to school shopping.  I get the shopping gene from my mom, so she would get just as excited to go shopping as I would.  I was like her Barbie doll; she would say thinks like “please try this on for me?!”  Needless to say, we still love shopping together and even though I am not going back to school, the back to school shopping tradition is still alive.  I found some new, fresh fall pieces at my last shopping trip.  I am loving this season’s chic minimalist styles.

Black Chic & Bold Accessories

Unlike most women, I have very little black in my closet. Of course I have the simple LBD and a plethora of black dress pants, but most of my favorite tops, dresses, and statement pieces are full of vibrant colors. Every now and then, however, I choose a classic black outfit and have fun with color with accessories & makeup. This casual LBD is so simple and comfy and was a perfect neutral to go with some pink lips and bold Halcyon artistry accessories! These photos are from the modeling shoot I did with the lovely designers from Halcyon.
Are you a color or a neutral lover?

Orange Lips & Aztec Print

The print of this adorable long sleeved romper has the colors of fall but holds on to the comfort of summer. It’s light and cozy and the print is perfect with these gladiator style sandals.
As I transition my wardrobe from summer to fall, I find myself trying to get every wear of my summer clothing such as maxi dresses, printed shorts, and tanks but layering them just in case it gets chilly at night. How do you transition your wardrobe in September?

Chilly Weather Sweaters

It’s definitely sweater season in New England. As long as I tried to hang on to my open-toe shoes, it’s time for booties and sweaters in CT. One thing I love about cooler sweater is the ability to look cute while being so cozy in an over-sized sweater like the one I am wearing from H&M (below). This is one of my favorites with a pair of skinny jeans and booties. So simple yet chic. What is your favorite thing to wear in chilly weather?
