Nautical Chic

Although this look has been worn many different ways, the nautical-themed look never seems to tire.  It is so classic and chic and there are so many different ways to incoporate this tailored look.  I took some simple & classic comfortable pieces to put this look together.

Fashion Night Out

Even though West Hartford, CT is no NYC, fashionistas from all over CT walked the “red carpet” to local boutiques and stores for West Hartford’s fashion night out.  It was a great night filled with amazing shoes, handbags, and fashionistas alike. Since all I had was my iPhone, photos below are from Online producer for courant.com, Sara Grant.  I had the pleasure to meet her and discuss her blog The Scene, and of course, our favorite looks of the night.

You can check out Sara’s article here.

Rent the Runway

One of my guilty pleasures is listening to Elvis Duran and the Morning Show… are any of you fans?  Anyway, Carla Marie shared this really cool website called  Rent the Runway.  We all remember Bag Borrow Steal from Sex and the City right?  Well, this is a similar concept.  If you have a gala, wedding, special event to go to, you can rent gorgeous designer dresses from $30-200.  It’s a cool concept, especially if you have a high-end event to go to (ahem, fashion week?) and you want to look killer but cannot afford to buy the dress.  Plus, you will never be seen in the same dress twice.

Closet Tour

One of my favorite projects around our new home is getting my so-called closet ready.  What I really did is take the smallest bedroom and turned it into a dressing room. It’s still in progess… I need to add a chandelier and an ottoman.  It took a little begging & negotiating with my husband, but in the end he helped. The former owners had it as a children’s playroom so what’s the difference?  Now it’s my playroom. 🙂
