Festival Season is Here!

Festivals, fairs, and my personal favorite: Oktoberfest, all in full-swing. This weekend I attended the largest Oktoberfest in the Northeast in downtown New Britain. I was also one of the judges of the Miss Oktoberfest pageant, alongside the mayor of New Britain, CT, Erin Stewart. It was a weekend full of delicious foods from all over the world, Oktoberfest beer from Germany, and lots of German-inspired attire and traditions.

Below are just a few photos from this weekend. Also, the beautiful sunset after the festivities when I returned home was priceless.

Orange Lips & Aztec Print

The print of this adorable long sleeved romper has the colors of fall but holds on to the comfort of summer. It’s light and cozy and the print is perfect with these gladiator style sandals.
As I transition my wardrobe from summer to fall, I find myself trying to get every wear of my summer clothing such as maxi dresses, printed shorts, and tanks but layering them just in case it gets chilly at night. How do you transition your wardrobe in September?

Summertime Sadness

This summer has gone by incredibly fast and I although I love fall, I got that summertime sadness (Lana Del Ray put it perfectly!). Before I start my fall wish-lists such as visiting wineries, apple picking, and pumpkin everything (sorry, I’m just not ready yet), I have a few more summer bucket list items.  Do you have a summer wish-list left?

  • Girl’s beach trip ( and I mean ONLY girls!)
  • Take Zoey (my pup) to the beach.. my little baby has never been!
  • Make homemade popsicles with this mouth-watering recipe I found on Pinterest here.
  • Go to a Yankees game!

Oh, and the drink was an island Martini- a delicious concoction they were serving at the bar!}

HOME is where the ❤ is

When we first moved in our new home, it was so fun to decorate and make the place our own. It’s been two years and although I do not want to completely change my decor, it feels so refreshing to add a new candle, vase or these adorable hand-painted letters from Graham & Brown.  The watercolor art really brightens and adds color to my living space.  I placed the letter right next to a vase of fresh mint that my aunt picked from her garden.  Sometime fresh herbs are even more beautiful (and useful!) than flowers.

For many more artistic decor, check out Graham & Brown for textured wallpaper, canvas art, and so much more unique home decorations you cannot find anywhere else.  I am totally eyeing  this Mystical metallic wallpaper as an accent wall for my walk-in closet.  I think the metallic silver textures will go perfect with the violet walls and bring the room to life.

Crushing on Crop Tops

The beauty of a crop top is it is not the 90’s belly shirt.. you don’t necessarily have to have a flat tummy to rock one.
Choose the right bottoms such as high-waist shorts or a flare skirt and anyone can rock a crop top. Contrary to what people may think, crop tops are actually very flattering on many body types because it bring attention to the ribcage, below the breasts and above the waists, which is usually the thinnest part of women’s (curvy or not!) bodies.
Have you rocked a crop top this summer?
