Gold Rush

Gold is HOT this summer.  From yellow gold jewelry to sparkly gold stilettos, the ultimate goal(d) is to be a Golden Girl.  This gold outfit below was inspired by Ruthie Davis’s spring/summer collection stillettos, the Spikette shoe, pictured below with the matching person.  I was browsing through Ruthie’s collection and fell in love.

The other products featured are a beautiful golden Michael Korrs watch, a leather dress from net-a-porter.com, Juicy Couture heart studs, and NARS gold nail polish.

Fourth of July Party Inspiration

Just got back from the most amazing trip to South Beach, Miami for our beautiful friends’ wedding!  I cannot believe that this weekend is fourth of July.  My fiance and I are going to this great party that sets the bar high for back yard barbeques.  It is a bash with live music, sports entertainment, pool, hot tub, and of course great people and awesome drinks.  It got me thinking, if I had a house (we currently live in a condo) what kind of fourth of July party would I throw.  I figured I’d live vicariously through you!

Vanilla chocolate covered strawberries & blue sugar topping

Patriotic cakes in a mini jar… so festive & delish!

Drink dispenser made from Watermelon.  I would make a watermelon punch inside with watermelon flavored vodka, fresh watermelon, pineapple juice, fruit juice, and sherbet. 🙂

Cute party decor from marthastewart.com.  She knows best!

Bubble Tea Recipe

Straws and Tapioca Pearls

One of my good friends works at a very chic local coffee shop.  Think Starbucks but much more space and variety.  One of their most popular drinks is  Bubble Tea.  I had never tried it and wanted to see what all the hype was about so I found a recipe for homemade bubble tea.  I absolutely love Tapioca so the Tapioca balls are so tempting.

Ingredients

¼ cup of flavored syrup or 1 package of powder (about ¼ cup per package)
¼ cup of hot water
¾ cup brewed tea, chilled
2 tablespoons sugar syrup
2 tablespoons tapioca balls, cooked
Ice

Directions:

Shake the first four ingredients in a cocktail shaker.

Bring some water to a boil in a kettle. Measure 2 tablespoons of tapioca balls into a microwave-safe container. Pour boiling water on top of the tapioca balls to cover. Microwave for 1 minute.
Strain the tapioca balls and pour into cup.

Add some ice. Serve with a wide straw and enjoy!
