Rent the Runway

One of my guilty pleasures is listening to Elvis Duran and the Morning Show… are any of you fans?  Anyway, Carla Marie shared this really cool website called  Rent the Runway.  We all remember Bag Borrow Steal from Sex and the City right?  Well, this is a similar concept.  If you have a gala, wedding, special event to go to, you can rent gorgeous designer dresses from $30-200.  It’s a cool concept, especially if you have a high-end event to go to (ahem, fashion week?) and you want to look killer but cannot afford to buy the dress.  Plus, you will never be seen in the same dress twice.

{Badgley Mischka $75 to rent, retail: $500}

{Nicole Miller- rent for $100, retail: $630}

5 DIY (easy) projects

DIY websites can be really fun and inspiring and some can be very… intimidating.  I love DIY but am not an expert DIYer.  I stick with the easier projects that are for amateurs.  I have found a few projects that I find to be very “doable” for any level of DIY!

{Take a large picture frame, put scrapbooking paper or fabric under the glass and add drawer pulls to each end. Makes a beautiful tray!}

Nude & Neon

Neon is popping up everywhere and as a child of the ninenties, it definitely sparks my inner fabulous 10-year-old persona.  I was obsessed with neon from snap bracelets to glittery neon jelly shoes… remember those?  Although I love the daring look of media, I wanted to wear it to work so I found this lovely top at H&M and muted the neon with an H&M nude skirt & shoes.  Perfect work outfit with a pop of fun.

Striped Maxi

As the last weekend before August, I am trying to cherish the last few days of the hot days and flowy clothing before fall comes.  This week, I rocked a diagonally striped tangerine maxi with nude wedges and a straw beach bag along with Burberry sunglasses. I found the fedora at Target for only $11.  My puppy Zoey of course wore her white rhinestone collar.

Old Saybrook & CT Wine Vineyards

It was a beautiful couple of days which my husband (of 1 year!) spent at the CT wine trail and by the shore to celebrate our 1 year anniversary.  I’ve lived in CT all my life but surprisingly did not realize how beautiful CT could really be until this trip.  I guess I have always taken New England for granted since I grew up here.  It was so nice to learn all about the local wineries- although no Napa Valley, it is still an amazing process right here in CT!

Decided to wear white in honor of my big day exactly one year ago.
