Vintage Remix

Vintage Remix

I have always considered myself fashion forward. I can remember when I was in 7th grade, the highlight of my month was getting the Delia’s catalog and choosing the highest platform sneakers I could find. I was always fascinated with my mom’s 70’s pictures with her belly shirts, bell-bottoms and sky-high platforms.

Although some fashion is merely a trend (they may resurface!) such as bell-bottoms, leg-warmers, and leotards; some looks are here to stay. That is why I absolutely love trying new things like fun patterns, crazy head-pieces, and bold glasses. The spontaneity and edginess gives me a thrill. Some pieces and styles will never be out of style. Little Black Dresses. A perfect-fit blazer. Nude pumps. Vintage Chanel. Since my mom has always been very into fashion, she taught me an important lesson- only splurge on classic, never on trends. It’s ok to mix your Christian Louboutins worth more-than-your-laptop-stilettos with your Forever 21 skirt. Remix your look, have fun, and be you.

Classic Black & Plaid

It has been weird weather here in New England but I am not complaining because it is much warmer than it usually is mid-January.  We even had thunder storms over the weekend.  It was a gray, rainy weekend so I felt the need to brighten up the gloomy weather with this awesome plaid Hollister scarf I found on sale.  I pulled the look together with this fun and comfy beret I found at H&M.

Winter Travel Must-Haves

After all the holiday chaos, don’t you just want at cocktail with an umbrella and your toes in the sand?  I sure do.  Last year, I was lucky enough to go on a Winter Get-Away.  This winter I might go to Okemo to ski but will not be escaping winter weather.  So, I want to live vicariously through you.  Are you going on an amazing freeze-free vacation?

One of my favorite parts of going away is finding fun, unique vacation dresses.  I am in love with  flowy dresses that go great with a tan yet comfortable. I love that on vacation you can get away with any pattern and any style. A few faves below from 1Dress.  They have an amazing variety of different styles and sizes for any occasion.  I am in love with the Grecian style white dress on the left.

Project Closet: Sneak Peek

One of my biggest New Year’s resolution, that I actually following through on, is to get more organized.  Where better to start than my closet?  Of course every girl has a dream closet and for Christmas, I begged my husband and my mom to help me improve my closet for Christmas.  My mom got me the racks from Home Depot, which are very sturdy and definitely worth the investment.  She also helped me go through clothes and I must say “the cleansing process” took a long time.  My rule was, if I had not worn it in a year, then donate it.

Installation only took a half hour and all instructions were on them.  This is just a sneak peek but wanted to share the progress so far!  Ryan also got me an adorable chandelier from Pottery Barn Kids that will go perfectly in this room.  Will keep you guys posted!
