Summer Faves

Spring came very slowly in New England and now that it is finally starting warm up, I am so excited for summer. I have a lot on my summer bucket list to pack into just a few months. What’s on your summer bucket list?
I started crossing my summer faves off this weekend..

Wednesday’s Look for Less

My rule of thumb is to splurge on the classics and save on the trends. A LBD that you will wear to every other fwedding? Splurge. That romper that you want to wear for a bachelorette party? Save. A classic trench for every season?  Splurge. You get the picture! Invest in your classics and get the look for less on some looks to save some cash for your next fashion investment.  Once in a while, however, something is so unique, that you simply have to splurge in fear that you may never come across it again.  This is best to do on vacation, especially since there will be a fun story behind the piece!

What pieces do you think are work splurging on?

Braided Updo & Flutter Sleeves

I hope everyone has a beautiful Mother’s Day! I cannot wait to celebrate with my Mom and my mother-in-law. I will be grilling shrimp, steak & chicken skeweres with tons of veggies and roasted potatoes. I have recently gone gluten-free because of my thyroid so please, any gluten-free recipes, send them my way!
I fell in love with this dress online on Nastygal.com. They have the most unique dresses. I wasn’t sure if it was going to look right on but it so comfortable and I love the flutter sleeves. I through my hair in an easy braided casual updo to keep it out of my face while running last-minute Mother’s Day errands. Ciao!

Nasty Gal Hand Harness

Sometimes, camera photos will have to do because I really wanted to share this gorgeous accessory with all of you!  My husband gifted this amazing hand harness and I am absolutely in love with it.  He found it on Nasty Gal and it’s the perfect unique accessory that gets tons of attention.  I wore it with my new Banana Republic cargo jacket that I scored at the outlets on clearance. At first, since it’s not a piece I normally wear, I thought it would be comfortable, but since I had it fitted, it was very wear-able.

Also, if you are an eyebrow-obsessed person like me, you may notice I am trying to grow in my eyebrows– yes I have Cara Delevinge eyebrow-envy (don’t we all?)  I am using a Lauren Mercier brow pencil that helps me through that awkward growing stage.

Have you tried a hand-harness yet?

Foodie Photography

Food is one of the loves of my life.  When I travel, it’s a given that I love to people watch the fashion, but I always love to try and photograph the food as well. Below are some of my favorite foodie photos from Italy and also some dishes I made on my own inspired by Italy.  My absolute favorite dish from Italy, which was in Roma, was the spaghetti Carbonara.  I ate it too fast to even get a picture of it. But hey, when in Rome! 🙂

What is the best food you’ve had while traveling?
