BLO- West Hartford

The chic environment of this magical little place in Blue Back Square, West Hartford is feminine and modern.  This little gem is called BLO Blow Dry Bar and the concept is simple yet genius.  No cuts, no color, just a fabulous BLO.  There are several different styles to choose from and so far I had the pleasure of getting the Red Carpet and the Boho Braid.  I would love to try the Executive Sweet and the daring Sex, Hugs and Rock & Roll.

I had the honor of meeting BLO West Hartford owner, the lovely Stacy Cohen, at the VAZ event last week and was thrilled to go in for personalized styling before a night out last Saturday.  BLO is the perfect place to go before a date night, girl’s night, bridal shower, wedding, and pretty much any day you want a little extra “umph”.  The beauty is that it’s so quick and as BLO says, you are not cheating on your hair dresser!

Casual Chic

Fall is my favorite season to spend time outside.  The crisp air, blue skies, and refreshing wind is such a high after a fun, eventful, hot summer.  Since my puppy, Zoey, turned 1 this month, I wanted to do a fun fashion shoot with her at our new home.  She has been such a beautiful addition to our family.  She is a rescue from a kill shelter so I know she is happy as well! 🙂

The sweater I am wearing is actually Old Navy but looked very similar to a J. Crew’s Heart Me sweater.  I was excited because the Old Navy one only costs $20!

Navy & White Decor

Having a great space is important to overall ambiance but sometime it is how you use the space that really puts a look together.  Whether you live in a dorm, 1-bedroom apartment, or a large home, your furniture layout, decor, and colors make all the difference.  Since my husband and I recently bought a home, it has been really fun to get our own styles.  It was very fascinating to see the rooms “before” we lived in the home and the “after” we made it our own.  We did not do much to the space besides paint the mantel- we even left the same color walls.  It really goes to show you how different a space can look with decor.  The room is almost done.- just need curtains… any suggestions?
